...and all it took was a bow, an arrow, some dental floss and a dad with impeccable skills!

Koby has been obsessively trying to wiggle out his front right tooth for weeks now. In fact, since the start of first grade in August, he has been convinced that that tooth was ready to come out. After all, loosing teeth in the first grade is a big deal. Everybody is doing it!
I, on the other hand, have been trying my best to not let that baby tooth fall out. For me, those top two teeth signify so much. They in someway represent a loss of those "baby" years. A transition. A child's face changes and becomes much more grown up with the addition of the top permanent teeth. I am simply not ready.
But he is. And he is determined. Last night he came down after having "cracked" his tooth (a word he coined which gives me the hibbie-jibbies just thinking about it, but in laymen terms simply means loosened that puppy up a bit). Having "cracked" only one side, we convinced him that the root is still not loose enough and that he should really get to bed.
This morning was so excited about his new "rabbit" tooth (which he affectionately refers to it as) and cannot wait to show it to the world! (or at least the first grade)

the note
On January 4th, 2010, a note was left on my pillow from my dearest 7-year old.
After a night of much bickering back and forth between the two of us, I had finally had enough. I told him he needed to go to his room. He declined. I then made it known that declining an invitation to go to your room from your mom was unacceptable and that he needed to head that way speedy quick. He again declined. I took away the his privileges for the Wii. Anger. Tears. Apologies. Unfortunately, all too late.
The sentence stood..."to your room!"
When Kev headed upstairs to release the prisoner, he found the note. It read,
"Mom I cant do this but its the only way"
It's official...I had been served Koby's first runaway note. I smiled because I am sure there will be many more of these notes to come in the future.
