four

Ky celebrated his fourth birthday a few weeks ago and today went to the doctor for his 4 year well child appointment. I was so excited to find out his "stats" today, as the child has been growing like a weed and is currently wearing clothes that Koby wore in Kindergarten! People are often surprised when they ask him his age because he looks so much older than he really is.

With that being said, here are his four year old stats:

height: 45 1/4 inches...he is greater, greater than the 95 percentile
(koby was 42 inches at 4, he was 45 in. at age 5!)

weight: 45.2 lbs....he is greater than the 95 percentile
(koby was 37.4 lbs at age 4)

vision: 20/20 (left eye) 20/30 (right eye)

Dr. Rauwerda predicted that based on today's stats Ky could reach a height of 6'4". When kids are between 2-3 they try to estimate their adult height by a mathematical equation that is based on the height of the child's mom and dad. That estimation a few years ago was 6'3" and Dr. said it could vary by 2 inches. Therefore, we think Ky could end up in the 6'1" to 6'5" range. Wow!

Like Big Papa Chicago said, "I knew on the day Ky was born that this kid was going to be big just by looking at the size of his feet!"

Ky also received a whopping 5 shots today! We did not know there would be shots today, but once he heard the news, he was very brave. They administered two at a time and he did well with the first set (saying ouch, ouch, ouch) with the second set came a longer and louder ouch followed by the tears. The final shot was all tears. The nurse gave him a couple of band aids and a yo-yo for his bravery. That seemed to ease the pain a bit.

Right now he is napping, and growing!
